Time needed to tape chevrons on mat > time willing to spend taping mat
Our doormat was just so brown and boring that I wanted it to give it a little pep (for our steps).
After realizing it was going to take more time than I had patience for to tape chevrons on our door mat, I decided I needed a different design.
Since our last name starts with K, I figured I would make an initial doormat. I knew it would be easy to tape off (it was) and not take much time to finish (it didn't), so this was the winner for our doormat design.

2. Tape off your design. Making a K is easy and I think this would work well for other straight letters...might be a little difficult to use tape with a round letter like S or C, but where there's a will there's a way (or if you have a Cricut or Silhouette it'd most definitely work).
That's it! This is an easy way to spruce up your doorway and doesn't cost much. I reused our doormat and already had spray paint and the tape handy. This cost me $0. Spray paint is fairly cheap and assuming you already have a doormat, this is a very cheap project.
Get creative and have some fun!

So easy and great, really jazzes up any old brown doormat, very creative.
